What if we were who we were made to be?
What if we treated ourselves with the love that God treats with us?
What if we loved ourselves the way the God intended us to?
What if we trusted the Lord the way we’re supposed to? Trusting him unconditionally.
What if we had as much joy as the good Lord intended for us to have?
What if we treated others lovingly?
What would our lives look like?
I can imagine that our lives would be more abundant if we decided to wholeheartedly trust Jesus and His promises.
I can imagine that the trials of this life would be fruitful and good if we decided to live the way God intended us to live.
“Your hearts and minds must be made completely new, and you must put on the new self, which is created in God’s likeness and reveals itself in the true life that is upright and holy.” Ephesians 4:23-24
What does it mean to live like Jesus did? What does it mean to love like Jesus did?
We were made in God’s image (Genesis 1:27) and we were created to obey Him, to follow Him. Animals weren’t created in God’s image. Birds weren’t created in God’s image. Humans were created in God’s image. Just take a step back and let that sink in. We have the honor and privilege of being created in His image. Isn’t that just incredible? Can’t you see just how much God loves you? He created you after Himself!
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:13-14
Just as we were created in the image of God, that perfect holiness was destructed and wrecked during the Fall. We sinned and the world is broken because of that sin. Why do we sin? It’s in our human nature. No one is perfect, no human is sinless, besides Jesus when he came down to Earth.
We were created in the image of God, but we are not intended to BE God. God wants us to build up ourselves, to build up our character, to live more virtuously. We aren’t meant to BE God, we will never be even CLOSE to His holiness, His glory, or who He is. That’s the wonderful thing about life, y’all.
We don’t have to do be perfect. No one expects us to be perfect. We are just expected to try to build up our character, to try to be more like Jesus. We aren’t meant to try to be perfect. We will never be perfect. NEVER.
The Lord provides the power in our lives to change. He doesn’t expect us to go through this life alone, but with Him. He empowers us, encourages us, and lifts us up. The Holy Spirit lives in us and He is transforming our hearts day by day, trial to trial.
