Hey y’all I’m back today with another backpack essentials post!
School is coming up SO soon and I feel like summer is already over! I’m sad that summer is quickly coming to an end, but I’m so excited to get back to school. It feels like I was a freshman just yesterday and now I am going into my junior year. Trust me when I tell you that time flies.
For this post, I am going to be sharing my essentials that I keep in my backpack.
This is kind of a given. Some people prefer tote-bags compared to backpacks, too. I tried the tote-bag trend in high school and my books ripped the seams (Nerd over here). Needless to say, backpacks are my go-to for carrying around my heavy books.
In college, most professors will allow you to have your computer. Although I do love taking handwritten notes, I also like taking notes on my computer because they can be edited and I can print them out as many times as I want. It is also handy to carry around your computer if you find yourself with some free time in between classes. Having an iPad is really awesome too, because there are awesome apps for college students to help you out through the day.
My pencil case is my number one essential. Not a backpack. Not my computer. My pencil case. I absolute love having a pencil case. In it, I keep highlighters, pens, pencils, chapstick, flashdrives, and everything in between. If I forget my pencil case, my whole day is off and I feel naked without it.
I just got a really great planner from Sugar Paper Target. It is light pink and white- the perfect combination in my eyes! A planner is great for writing down your homework and keeping track of your to-do list. Embarrassed to say this, if I zone out in class, making and refining my to-do list becomes a priority (NOTE: I don’t always zone out in class, but I do love doodling in my planner).
Just like your backpack, I think that having a notebook is fairly explanatory. If you want to succeed in school, take notes and be prepared!
I absolutely love having a water bottle to bring to class. As it is, drinking water can be a difficult task. People are always telling us to drink more water, but it’s hard to do that if you are stuck in class all day. Bringing a water bottle will encourage you to drink more water! This is so important because your brain needs water to function. Water Bottle = Hydration = Better brain function = Do better in school. While that equation might not be 100% accurate, it seems pretty reasonable in my eyes!
While this isn’t a total essential, it’s a fun one! I like having a beauty bag filled with some lip gloss, oil-blotting sheets and a few other miscellaneous items for those just in case moments.
Make sure that you bring extra headphones in your bag. I think that everyone should already have a special pair specifically for their backpack. It is the worst when you want to listen to music or you are running to the gym after school and you are left with no music because of no headphones. I keep these in my beauty bag so that they don’t get lost or too tangled.
Last but not least, bring a phone charger. You never know when you or a friend will be in need of a phone charger. Because our world is so connected to technology, having a dead phone is no fun. You can also just skip this essential and enjoy the people around you when your phone dies!
Thank you so much for reading, y’all! I hope you have a happy back-to-school season and let me know what essentials I need in my backpack!
