Good morning y’all!
This morning was not the best morning of my life. I found out that my website has been hacked AGAIN and this time my homepage isn’t even showing up. (Update: it is fixed. These posts are scheduled for after they are written) It’s okay. It will all be fixed. By the time this goes up, my blog will be virus free. It is hard to deal with all of this technological nonsense in Europe for two reasons. One, we rarely have wifi. Two, we do have 24/7 phone support with our hosting provider, but we don’t have free calls over here. It is very expensive to place a call- about $1 a minute, so it’s not ideal to spend an hour on the phone trying to fix my website. We decided that we are going to just wait until we get to the States to fix everything. Where we have free phone calls AND data/wifi.
Okay, enough technology talk. We took the ferry today to Bellagio, a town about 15 minutes (via ferry) away from where we are staying. I want to say that Bellagio is a bigger town than Varenna, but I’m honestly not too sure. There are definitely more people here, but the beautiful day could have contributed to that.
Similar to Varenna, there isn’t much to do in Bellagio besides eat and wander around. This is exactly what we did. We ate, walked around the town, and looked at the beautiful scenery. We ate at a great Italian restaurant called “La Fontana.” I surprisingly got pizza because I was craving it (weird, right? I typically shy away from pizza and I would normally get pasta instead). Of course the one time I’m craving pizza it isn’t the best ever. While I wasn’t super fond of my pizza, I had some of my mom’s pasta, which was amazing.
We stayed in Bellagio until dinner time because the food was so much better here, but we only stayed for appetizers because it started to seriously thunderstorm. We caught the ferry just as it started to downpour and we went to dinner back in Veranna.
Although this trip to Italy was short lived, it was great! I’m so glad that I was able to come to my sixth country of this trip! Last year, I went to Florence and Rome, but these two cities were so much different. These are more tropical and secluded. Tomorrow we head to Switzerland and then America the next day! Thanks for reading!
