As I mentioned in yesterday’s post and video, we have left Paris and we are now back in Switzerland! Today we caught an 8:00 train to Lausanne, Switzerland, changed trains and headed to Bern! Bern is the capital of Switzerland and it is so beautiful!
We arrived at about 1:00 in Bern and it was pretty much empty. Compared to Paris, where there are tons and tons of people, Bern seemed kind of deserted. We stopped in Bern before heading to Lucerne, Switzerland. We stopped here mainly because my dad wanted to see some artwork in a museum right by the train station. We stayed there for about 30 minutes before grabbing lunch and seeing the town center a bit.
The museum wasn’t all that we had hoped, though. We were expecting to see some Van Gogh paintings, but there was a special exhibit, so they had taken some paintings away for space reasons. This unfortunate timing was the reason why we only stayed about an hour or two total in Bern. After the museum, we went to this amazing lookout. Holy cow, I love Switzerland. I mentioned this on my Instagram, but I think that Switzerland might be my favorite country now. Everywhere we go is just so beautiful and gorgeous. Granted, we have had beautiful weather wherever we go, too.
We ate lunch at a little touristy pizza place for time reasons and caught the 3:37 train to Lucerne (Luzern). We made it here at about 5:00 and tried to quickly find a hotel. We scored an amazing hotel on the water with the bets view we could have asked for. We ate dinner near our hotel at about 7:00 or 7:30 and proceeded to walk down the left bank of the lake.
From where we are, we can see the Alps and they are absolutely gorgeous. We saw the sunset and had a fabulous evening! We stay in Lucerne until tomorrow afternoon- hopefully the weather stays beautiful!
