“It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores” is a silky finishing powder that is supposed to give an airbrushed look for women of all ages. The full name is “It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Silk HD Anti-Aging Micro Powder”. It’s a very long name, so I just call it “Bye Bye Pores”.
Basically this product is a powder that goes over your foundation or tinted moisturizer to both set your makeup, but also blur your wrinkles and pores and reduce shine and oil. On their website, it is stated that this powder was developed with plastic surgeons, and it contains no talc, parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate mineral oil, petrolatum, synthetic fragrance, and phthalates.
I bought this after hearing good reviews and looking for an HD finishing powder. I picked it up at Ulta for $24.
When I first purchased it, I really wasn’t expecting anything amazing from the powder. I had never tried anything from It Cosmetics before, so I didn’t know what to expect. My skin is on the oiler side, with my cheeks being on the normal side. I definitely wanted a powder that would keep my face matte, but while also not looking cakey or heavy.
This powder came in a small black box with the product inside in a matte plastic jar with a screw on lid. When the lid is off, it has a powder puff and a sticker covering several holes so that the product doesn’t come out all at once. This is a plus because this powder is very fine and it’s a loose powder. Loose powders are great, but usually they are a huge mess. Instead of taking off the sticker that you’re supposed to take off that seals the powder, I just took a pushpin and poked holes in the sticker for more control. This helps with the mess and it controls how much product comes out.
The powder inside is very fine and translucent on the skin. In the container, it has almost a yellow tint to it, like cornstarch, but it shows no color on my skin. I have used both the powder puff provided and a brush to apply this product, and I can’t say which I like better. Both techniques are effective.
I put this finishing powder on after I apply my bb cream and my concealer. I really like the look of this because it gives a soft, matte look, and I truly do see a difference in my pores. It definitely helps conceal them and my skin stays matte all throughout the day.
I have been using this product for a few weeks now, and I’ve tried it without anything under it, and it still looks good! Just make sure to blend it in so that there is not the dreaded “white-cast” in pictures. So far, this hasn’t broken my face out either, so that’s a plus- maybe it’s because there aren’t many ingredients? These are the ingredients from ulta.com: Silica + Collagen, Vitamins A, C, E & K, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Hydrolyzed Silk Protein. May Contain: Iron Oxide CI 77492.
I will continue using this product and I will most definitely re-purchase this product! I hope y’all like this Bye Bye Pores review!
