I’ve always been told that to drink more water is good for you, but I’ve never really followed the advice. I was told that water fills you up more, water gives you a beautiful complexion, water helps everything function correctly, etc. The only problem is that I couldn’t force myself to drink eight glasses of water a day. I just wasn’t motivated enough to drive myself to drink that much water. It just didn’t seem like it was reasonable or logical in my head. I never grasped the advice, until now.
I just recently stumbled upon an article posted to Facebook about how you should really drink a whole gallon of water each day! Wow! That is so much water! The woman, who wrote the post, put up before and after pictures, and they seriously leave me astounded.
After doing some research, and after seeing that article, I’ve decided and I’ve been convinced that drinking water is really good for you, and I should maybe start drinking more water! Here are some reasons why:
1.Water flushes out toxins
Through all that we eat throughout the day, and all of the junk food that we eat, we are bound to have some toxins! Toxins build up in our bodies, and drinking water helps to flush out those unwanted toxins.
2. Water balances our bodies
We are made up of approximately 60% water, so we need to keep on replenishing this water! The water that we are made up of is used for the digestion of food, the regulation of body temperature, and the transportation of nutrients. (Source)
3. Our muscles work better
When we are properly hydrated, our muscles are in tip-top shape, and so they can perform better! This is another reason why you should drink water when you workout- so that your muscles can perform better.
4. We feel more full
I just started noticing this after today. I was hungry and wanting a snack, I instead picked up a bottle of water, and soon enough, I wasn’t hungry anymore! Sometimes we just mistake our dehydration for hunger, which causes some to gain weight from eating when it is not necessary! So drinking water before a meal will help cut back on how much you eat, because you will automatically feel more full!
5. Helps reduce bloating
Whenever I feel bloated from indulging too many cookies or too many chips when I shouldn’t have, I feel so bloated from all the food that is in my tummy! Even though drinking water does not seem like the best option because you will feel even more full, drinking water will help because you will be able to digest your food better!
6. Helps our complexions
A prime example of this is shown in the article, listed above. Hydration by drinking water helps our skin look healthy and plump, and it can even reduce acne or any spotting on your face!
After all, why wouldn’t you drink water… It can neither hurt nor harm you, so give it a try! Drink More Water!
