Hi wonderful people! How’s your day been treating you? I hope you’ve had the best day ever! I am going to just cut to the chase- Please tell me that you have heard of dry shampoo before. Dry shampoo has become increasingly more popular in the past few years- you had to have heard about it by now- it’s a lifesaver! Dry shampoo is basically what its name says. It is for those days when you don’t have time to wash your hair and/or shower, but your hair is a greasy mess. It is perfect for those days when you worked out the day before but you just got your hair blown out.
I typically use dry shampoo on a normal basis, probably a couple of times per week because my hair is just naturally oily and I don’t like to wash it every day. I just spritz a little bit (or a lot) in before I go to sleep and/or when I wake up and I am golden- no more oily hair!
I have always had fairly oily hair. I don’t know what the deal is, but my hair gets very dirty- unusually fast. Over the years, I have found a few favorites and a few duds. I have finally found the ones that work best for me based off of the color, the smell, and the effectiveness. If you haven’t been reading long or if you haven’t caught on, I am kind of sensitive to fragranced products. I don’t like anything that is too heavily perfumed- I am just very sensitive to certain perfumes.
Let’s start with the break-down!
Batiste Dry Shampoo for Dark and Deep Brown Hair // This is a great brand. Batiste makes awesome dry shampoos for a great price. The only downfall is that this brand loves the scents. Most of their products have a strong fragrance. There are multiple colors, but this one is great because it does not look powdery in hair that is dark! You might be asking… Sally, how would you know? You have lighter hair! Well, I used to dye my hair darker, like really darker, so I have some experience in that department. Let’s just say that dark brown does not suit me!
Bumble and Bumble Pret A Powder Dry Shampoo // This Bumble and Bumble is a great dry shampoo for all hair types. I found a little sample at Sephora near the check out line and I want a bigger size! My roommate actually introduced it to me. It literally lasts forever because it is a fine powder that you basically “spritz” onto your roots. Now be careful not to get too much because then it won’t settle in naturally. You have to make sure that there isn’t any product at the opening and just basically squeeze the bottle and spray the air from the bottle onto your scalp. The dry shampoo dust will transfer this way. Sorry if that explanation is confusing! This dry shampoo is super universal and does not have a lot of scent to it.
Batiste Dry Shampoo for Blondes // Just like the other dry shampoo, this is the same brand. When I used to get highlights in my hair, this was my go-to. I used this all the time because it helped my hair look blonde even when it was dirty.
Psssst! Dry Shampoo // This is my ultimate favorite dry shampoo. It absorbs the oil in my hair the best, blends out evenly in my roots, and it doesn’t smell too strong. I use this one the most often and I have used the most cans of this one.
Do you have any dry shampoo favorites?
