Hi everyone! This morning we scooted out the door at an early 7:45 to hop in a rental car. We decided that today would be a perfect day to go to Etretat.
If you don’t know what Etretat is, look up “Etretat Monet” and you will see so many iconic paintings. This little beach side village is about three hours from Paris and almost no one speaks English, so brush up on your French if you’re fixing to go!
I really thought that I wouldn’t see anything else as beautiful as The Schilthorn, but y’all, these cliffs are amazing. God’s work has been so evident on this trip it’s unreal. All of His works and creations are full of awe and wonder. It’s such a blessing to see.
We stayed at Etretat for a couple of hours- climbing in caves, exploring the pebble filled beaches, and hiking to the top of the cliffs. I have to put something in here about the pebbles though. They act as a natural border to flooding for this town and they are the softest things I’ve ever felt. I really was tempted to take one, but doing so would tamper with the whole ecosystem of the place, supposedly.
When we returned to Paris at about 6:00, we were craving Thai food once again. We found a really close place called Mme. Shawn. It was surprisingly good! It wasn’t your typical Thai food, but it had a nice spin on it and it wasn’t too expensive. It was very reasonably priced. We will definitely be going back!
