As mentioned here, I just went to NYC! It was so much fun and although short-lived, it was awesome. I went to some amazing restaurants, and we basically ate our way through the city- I was surprised I didn’t just roll all the way home. But man, let me tell you. New York City has some amazing restaurants. Scratch that. New York City has a bunch of amazing restaurants.
The first place that we went to is called Viand Coffee Shop. It is a little cafe type restaurant where we went to for breakfast. It has been there forever and I remember going there as a little girl. My favorite thing to get there is breakfast food and their turkey, which is cut straight off of the bone. If I go one place while in NYC, I go here.
For dessert, we went to Big Gay Ice Cream Shop. Despite the name, this place is so good and yummy. They mainly have just ice cream and sundaes, but they have a few other items. I hear (from Food Network- Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives) that the “Salty Pimp” is the thing to get. I got some concoction with chocolate and pretzels in it- so good.
The next day, for lunch, we went to The Smith. I had an amazing salad here. They serve traditional food here. This is a very good place to eat at, and I would definitely return here. You might want to make a reservation, though.
After lunch, we ended up going to Momofuko Milk Bar. This is a dessert place with limited items on the menu. I went because a friend recommended it. I ended up getting the Cake Truffle and I couldn’t imagine getting anything else. I know that you can also place orders from out of state- people love it that much.
We went to a few other breakfast spots, like Park Cafe, but Viand is our favorite.
If you are in the mood for Italian, please please please go to Becco. I know that my dad will agree with me on this one. This place has quality Italian food and amazing olive oil. I got the salmon with Brussel Sprouts, and oh my goodness, yum! My parents also loved this restaurant- it is one of our new favorites!
Last but definitely not least is our (especially my dad’s) favorite restaurant, Balthazar. Wow. This place is amazing. It is fairly pricey, but it is so worth it. I got the salmon, but in the past, I have gotten the Rotisserie chicken, which is equally amazing. This is a must-go restaurant to visit. The atmosphere is also pleasurable.
I hope that y’all enjoyed my list of favorite restaurants in NYC! Slowly but surely, I am building my “favorites” list, which is so exciting! Let me know if you have been to any of these restaurants!
