How to Kickstart Your Fitness Goals

How to Kickstart your Fitness Goals

What are your fitness goals? Do you have any? Do you ever have those days where you promise yourself that you are going to get fit? Those days where you say, “Tomorrow, I’ll start.” Those days when you just want to get in shape but you just don’t know how? Been there. Done that.

Instead of just wishing, make it happen! I am going to share my tips on how to get fit and what I have done to stay on track.

Get Motivated // Being motivated is probably the number one issue with working out. It is always so hard to stay motivated, especially when you have a busy schedule and taking a nap sounds so much better than taking thirty minutes to work out.

Find a Workout Plan // I used to just go on Pinterest and then do a quick workout and be done and I called myself fit. While I do still love my Pinterest workouts, they don’t make me work as hard as some other workouts I have tried. Finding a workout plan and sticking to that workout is a great start. I recommend Kayla Itsines’ Bikini Body Guide. It is very challenging and you will definitely get some results. You can go to her website and get a free week trial to see how you like it.

Take it Slow // Remember that progress does not happen by working out once. You can’t expect your body to change and for your endurance to build up tremendously by just spending 30 minutes a week exercising. It might take months and years in order to see change.

Eat Right // It is hard to stay energetic and motivated when you aren’t nourishing your body with the proper foods. I follow the HELP guide, by Kayla Itsines (seriously, she’s a lifesaver). This gives certain portions to nourish your body and to fuel it for workouts and for everyday activities.

Drink Water // Okay, I seriously struggle with this one. I am trying to drink more water every day and I have this Nalgene 32oz bottle that I try to drink two times through, which ends up being about 1/2 gallon. I think that’s pretty good! Drinking water is very important for our brains, our muscles, and the functions of our body. Especially if you are working out, make sure to drink water throughout the day to stay hydrated!

Just Do It // Set a goal, make a plan and do it! I know it can be scary working out and committing to something like this, but it is so worth it!
