I have been looking for a good face powder for a long time. I want one that gives me coverage, blends nicely into my skin, while also not looking like I have anything actually on my face. That last necessity is a tough one to match. Too many powders look too cakey, too drying, too shimmery, or just too makeup-y. It is so hard to find a good powder now a days. Well, I’m sure that with more searching, I can find the perfect powder. But I think that the search has stopped because I think have found an amazing powder, the Lancome Dual Finish Powder.
I recently purchased this powder after complimenting someone on their makeup, and this was the culprit. This powder was the one that made her skin look flawless and makeup-less. It was really amazing. So, I had to try it.
There are so many colors of this powder, it is amazing! I found a color that matches my skin tone perfectly.
Upon applying this powder with a sponge/powder puff, I noticed that it blended seamlessly into my skin, and it really did look like I had on no makeup! It is just so amazing what makeup can do! I wore it all day long, and having oily skin, this powder lasted a while! By the end of the day, I was looking a little bit shiny, but I had no primer or anything on and I did not touch up during the day!
The only downfall of this product that is a major turnoff is the scent. My mom swears that the scent is not strong enough to be noticed, and maybe I have a sensitive nose, but to me, this powder has such a funky smell! It just smells like a perfume an older lady might wear, no hate to that kind of perfume, I just would rather have no fragrance at all on my face, especially because it’s sensitive. I mean, I can even smell the fragrance on my face a couple of hours after it’s been applied!
Overall, I really loved the look of this on my face, but for me, this Lancome powder is just not the powder for me. I just could not deal with the fragrance aspect, which is a shame because this is a beautiful powder. I 100% recommend this powder to you if you don’t mind scents/fragranced products, but if you have an issue with that type of stuff, either don’t purchase it, or smell it in the store! I’m going to keep on looking and stick to my trusty powder that I’ve used for a long time!
