Dear You, the single girl who thinks she’s not enough, the girl who is itching for a relationship, the girl who is not ready for a relationship, the girl who doesn’t know what she wants, the girl who is discouraged, this one is for you.
First of all, know that you are not alone. You are surrounded with a wonderful, loving, community of people who support you, who believe in you, and who think that you’re a rockstar, because quite frankly, you are.
You are so worthy. You are so loved. You are beautiful.
The feelings that you are feeling now, those are totally valid. You are an incredible girl who deserves the best, no matter what bad relationship you just got out of, no matter if you have never even been in a relationship. You deserve a man who will treat you well, you deserve a man who looks at your heart, not your looks or your mistakes.
You deserve someone who loves Jesus more than he loves you. Yes, loves Jesus more than you.
You deserve someone who pursues Jesus every morning before He pursues you.
More than that, you need a guy like that.
You need a guy who likes to talk to God more than he talks to you.
Sweet girl, in the mean time, just have patience. Easier said than done, but you can do it.
Know that God has a perfect plan for your future. It is better than anything you could have planned.. Way better.
When you meet the guy you are going to marry, you will be the only one in the room he notices and he’ll only want attention from you.
You will be the most beautiful girl in the room and you will capture his attention.
No other girl will measure up because he wants to pursue you.
Your heart, your intentions, your love is so great that any guy would be lucky to have you, but don’t let that happen. Don’t let just any guy steal your heart. Let Jesus first capture your heart so that you won’t ever have to give your heart away to a boy who might break your heart.
As humans, we are all sinful. We are pretty much known for disappointing others. It’s really hard to rely on other humans fully because no one on Earth is perfect.
That’s why relying on God is so important. It is so important to give your heart to God, for him to the be first man that you truly love.
He will not let you down. He will love you forever and always. He will always encourage you. He will believe in you. He will always see the best in you.
God can do that, but humans can’t. I can’t stress how important it is to get to know God right now. Let him capture your heart, let him take ahold of your life. Trust in his promises. Trust in his timing.
Your dream man will come with time. Your dream man will come when you are fully content being single and when you are fully and completely in love with God.
Relationships are tricky. There is so much to be said about marriage and divorce now a days and it’s scary. Wouldn’t you rather trust God’s timing, fall in love with him first, and then see where he takes you? If you only rely on God, He will never let you down. If you only rely on a boy that you are “talking to,” you are definitely going to be let down. I’m sorry to say it, but it’s true.
You cannot have a healthy and truly good relationship without God being at the center.
When God is at the center, when both people let God be in control, when both people serve God first, everything seemingly falls into place. Without God in a relationship, it will probably fail. Someone will get disinterested, someone will cheat, someone will find someone new, someone will just get bored.
God is what adds the spark to the relationship. He is the one that guides it and blesses it.
People always say that when you are completely content being single, when you are just focused on God and your intentions are pure, that’s when it happens. That’s when your guy comes into the picture.
So let Jesus take your burdens. Let him take your worries on you not getting married. Let him take your fear that you are not enough. Let him take control. Let him do what he was made to do. Be satisfied enough in your relationship with Jesus that being in a relationship with a boy won’t even matter.
Whatever you are going through, I can totally relate. I can completely and fully relate to you. I’ve been there. Heck, I’m there now.
Hold onto the promise that God will provide. He provides always, as long as we trust in Him. God loves us too much to let us suffer. If you are in pain, embrace that pain and let God turn that pain into good. If you are discouraged, take those feelings and bring them to the feet of Jesus. Lay your fears, your insecurities, your pain, your sadness and your darkness at the foot of the cross.
Jesus has already redeemed you. He has already taken the place for those sins. He has already taken the pain so that you don’t have to.
If you get anything out of this letter, know that He has a plan. He has a perfect plan. He has a plan that’s designed just for you and only you. God loves you so much and He just wants you to be close to Him.
Go start the best relationship of your life. Go be with Jesus.
