Sweetly Sally

real never goes out of style

London // Day 1

June 3, 2015

Today we arrived in London! We got into the airport around noon, and then we started to make it to our hotel. On the plane, fortunately, I slept most of the time, which was great. Our flight was pretty much empty so I practically had a row all to myself!

We then ate lunch at a little restaurant where I got a chicken caesar salad and my dad and brother each got a club sandwich. Afterwards, we did some sight-seeing! We went to see Big Ben, the White Tower, and Buckingham Palace. We didn’t get around to Buckingham in time to see the guards, but I think that we are doing that tomorrow!

So far, I am loving London! It is vert different from Paris, in my opinion, and everyone is very diverse here. There are so many different languages being spoken on these streets. As far as weather goes, it has been cold and rainy! The weather here is a bit bipolar. One minute it is raining, the next minute it is sunny, and then 10 minutes later it is pouring down rain! When the sun is out, the temperature does not feel that cold, but once the rain comes or the sun sets, it feels freezing outside! We had to cut our night short due to the frigidity. My mom and I were too cold to tolerate the weather today!

I am so excited to spend more time here in London. I am very fortunate to be able to travel abroad. Also, update on the camera! I bit the bullet and got the Nikon D3200, the better of the two cameras, and I love it! So far, so good! I am still getting used to the setting and all, but maybe once I figure everything out, I could do a post about cameras for beginners, like me!

Because my family and I caught a red-eye flight so that we could get to London in the daytime (we left around 10:00PM and since the flight is 10 hours long, we got in around noon-sih), I am just so tired! I have been fighting sleep all day long, so getting in bed and sleeping will do me some good, hopefully!

So far, London is everything that I had hoped it would be and more!
