The moment you’ve been waiting for… My 2017 summer plans.
If you haven’t been reading my blog for a while, you wouldn’t know that last summer, I went to Europe. I have gone nearly every year since Junior year of high school with my family. It is such a dream and I am incredibly blessed.
This summer, I am headed to Europe once again!
Our plans are not set in stone whatsoever, but all I know is that we are for sure going to Italy and France. Every time I’ve gone to Europe, we have gone to Paris, because it is one of our favorite places!
Last summer, I went with my whole family, but this year, I am just going with my parents. Keep this on the down low, but we call ourselves the traveling trio (I’m a little bit embarrassed, so try not to make fun of me) …
As I am traveling this summer, I am going to be using the hashtag #sallyjetsets.
It took me a while to come up with a hashtag that didn’t have any photos associated with it. I will hashtag all of my adventures and photos with this hashtag so that y’all have an easy time keeping up!
As for blog posts, I don’t know what my plan is yet.
I would love to continue to write encouraging/inspirational posts that tag along with fashion photos, but I don’t know yet. I might start a series on my blog where I show y’all what I pack and then I create outfits for the time I’m there with only those items. For example, I will have 30 pieces of clothing: 2 dresses, 3 pairs of pants, 5 shirts, 3 pairs of shoes, etc. Then, I will create fashion outfits based on this set wardrobe. What are y’alls thoughts? I am still thinking about it, so more to come later on that.
I am so thrilled to be able to have this opportunity to go to Europe again.
Going to Europe is such a rich experience. I love seeing the culture, the people, the food and the architecture. It is all so vastly different- it truly amazes me. My favorite part about going to Europe is not only the culture and the different environment (and the food, because who doesn’t love pastries for breakfast, lunch, and dinner?), but it is the experience itself.
Last summer, I filmed every single day that I was in Europe and I uploaded those videos to my YouTube account, with a corresponding blog post.
Looking back, I love that I decided to make those videos.
They aren’t just something to upload to my YouTube channel as content, but to me, they serve as memories. Sure, I had late nights as I was editing and there were times that I was frustrated that I promised myself I would film every day, but it was so worth it.
I’m still deciding whether or not I am going to make videos this time around. I think that I might just so that I can have the videos as a lasting memory, but I need to think more on it.
I have a pretty good feeling that this is going to be my last year, for a while, that I will have the opportunity to go to Europe.
As mentioned in this post, after graduation, I am planning on teaching (hopefully), so I won’t have flexible times besides the summer time; Not to mention, I will be on my own and we all know that I can’t afford a trip to Europe right after graduating college… Who has the money for that? Not me!
Based on that, I want to live it up and experience as much as I can.
Last year, when I was in Switzerland, I almost went hang-gliding but backed out last minute out of fear. This year, if I get that opportunity, you bet I’m going to go! Maybe I will invest in a GoPro so I can film that, too. We’ll see!
My family and I are planning on staying in Europe for about and month before returning home to the United States.
Once I back, I am planning on laying low, preparing for school, and blogging! I have been super into blogging and I want to continue it, so that will definitely be on my to do list!
Overall, I am really excited for this summer! I have less than a month left, so pray for me as I finish out this school year! Pretty soon, I will be a senior in college, how scary! These next few weeks are going to fly by and then I will be on my way to Europe! Let me know if there are any must-have things I need to pack. Although I’ve been, I can always use some good advice and some tips- I’m serious, don’t be shy with advice!
Remember to follow along with me with the hashtag #sallyjetsets!
