I have always hated running long distance. Because I used to play soccer, I was not used to running long distance, and rather, I ran in short bursts, so I was never conditioned to run for long distances. In high school, though, I did cross country. For one year. Correction, for one season. I hated it. I really did not like running, but I decided to do it only to get in shape for soccer. After that season of cross country was over, I was done with long distance running. Until this year.
Preference night for rushing was really stressful and so on that day, I decided to go on a run so I ran about 1.5 miles. This has nothing to do with my whole running story though. Back to my focus, anyways, around two weeks ago, I was really craving to run, and let me tell you, I have no idea why. I have never run more than 3 miles without stopping, and I just had so much energy! That day, I ended up running 4 miles without stopping!!! Can you believe that?! I couldn’t! I have never done that in my whole life! Not to pat myself on the back or anything (maybe just a little bit, hey! I’m proud of myself), but I was so happy that I accomplished that! After running those four long miles, I started to crave running and ever since, I have been running around 3 miles every other day! It is so weird, but I’m starting to love to run! I never thought that I would say that.
Sure, while I am running, I am counting down the minutes, but the thing is, after I finish my run, I feel so amazing and I actually have more confidence! I have grown to love working out, and running is just another thing that I can add to my workout routine! Yay for cardio! Yay for a healthy heart!
Now don’t go criticizing me on how I only run 3 miles. I know it is not a lot compared to a lot of other people, but I am happy with it!
Now I’m not really sure why I just shared a blog post about running, but I don’t know, I was proud of myself and wanted to share I guess!
I hope that y’all have a happy happy Friday, and a great weekend!
