Hi sweet friends! Today we woke up to another rainy day. :( I ate some eggs and avocado toast for breakfast, which made me happy. I got some eggs and bread from the local supermarket so that I could cook my breakfast! It’s not that I’m necessarily tired of pastries (never!) it is just that I like to eat something more sustainable for breakfast. I can’t eat chocolate croissants everyday for breakfast for a month!
After I got ready for the day, we headed out into town. We first went to the Apple Store to try to get my computer fixed (watch the video to see what’s up) but they couldn’t fix it. Hopefully I can figure it out on my own! The department store, LaFayette was nearby so we just stopped in there for lunch. I had rotisserie chicken and vegetables! After, my mom and I shopped around there for a while. There wasn’t a whole lot we could do because it was so rainy here!
At about 4:30, my dad and I headed to the Louvre, which is the museum with the Mona Lisa, most famously. We saw some amazing art here and stayed for about an hour and a half. I have been multiple times before, so we didn’t spend hours upon hours here.
This is the “Nike of Samothrace,” a very popular sculpture at the top of a staircase in the Louvre.
(Look how many people! The picture is blurry, but you get the gist of how crowded it is!)
For dinner, we ended up going to Entrecôte, a restaurant in Paris (there are actually 4 locations) where the menu is set with a starter salad, then steak and french fries for your main course. They also bring out some bread and you can add wine if you want.
I am not a huge fan of red meat, so I just ate everything but the steak. It was cheaper too! I would say per person, it costs about 27 Euros, whereas mine, just french fries and the salad, cost 5 euros. The waitresses there aren’t always the friendliest, so keep that in mind. Making changes and substitutions won’t get you on their nice list. Needless to say, I didn’t get a “come back soon.”
On the way back to our apartment, it was rainy, windy and cold! I don’t think that it stopped raining all day long. My umbrella flipped inside out at least three times and my mom’s did too- except for hers permanently bent and therefore broke. It’s okay though, because we have extra umbrellas and raincoats!
Although it rained pretty much all day long, we still had fun- after all, it is Paris!
