Hi readers! Today was such an amazing day! I woke up at about 8:30 with no alarms, no noise, and no parents waking me up! It was so nice. After I made my breakfast, my mom and I did a quick workout in the room. We haven’t worked out since we have been here, but we have been walking at least 10 miles every day, so we justify it a little bit. We took our time getting ready before walking to the Hotel de Ville, where our favorite market is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays. They have the best rotisserie chicken and potatoes!
We also got some amazing strawberries and blueberries. They are just so different from the US. Here, they are so much more flavorful, colorful, and just all around better. We demolished both cartons in about five minutes! We got these berries before we ate our main lunch because we got to the market too early! They hadn’t opened when we first got there. While we waited, we shopped around a bit- I wasn’t complaining!
After we had some amazing lunch (Only $10 for all three of us too!!!), my mom and I stopped in the makeup store, Kiko, and we got a few things. Afterwards, we headed back to the apartment. I took a quick nap, did my nails, and just chilled out for a while.
Flash forward to dinner time, we went to the best restaurant yet. It is called “Les Cocottes.” (135 Rue Saint-Dominique, 75007 Paris) The chef, Christopher Constant, has three restaurants on the same street. My brother claimed it was the best meal he ever had- he got steak and potatoes. I got another vegetable dish. I usually get vegetable dishes for two reasons. First of all, I don’t really like red meat. Secondly, I realized that it is hard to get in my greens while traveling, so when I get the opportunity, I will make sure to order them!
The dessert here is also worth it to get. I would recommend getting the waffle. It is so yummy. While I was taking a picture of the waffle for my blog, I got made fun of by a group of adults at the next table so that was uplifting… Whatever!
The restaurant was very close to the Eiffel Tower, so we walked there afterwards. It was so beautiful and just as we were leaving, it started to rain! Perfect timing if I do say so myself. This was the first time it had rained all day! We took Les Champs Elysees back to our apartment and got some ice cream on the way back, even though we had waffles for dessert! I would say that walking 25,000 steps deserves a second dessert! When in Paris, I guess!
