Hi everybody! I can’t believe that I have been in Paris almost a whole week now! It has been such a wonderful experience. In two days, we are headed to a new city, so stay tuned!
Today, just like yesterday, we had a pretty relaxing morning. My brothers left for the States today so now it is just my parents and me for a while. We are planning on traveling and exploring Europe a little more!
We started off our day by eating lunch at Eric Kayser, one of our staple restaurants. I discovered a new dish there, and it is so tasty! It is chicken salad style made with chicken, mashed up avocado, and some spices. It is very filling and I think I am going to try to recreate it when I get home!
After lunch, my dad headed back to the apartment for a nap, so it was the perfect excuse for my mom and I to sneak away to St. Germain to shop! We went to a yummy chocolate shop, Bon Marche, and some little boutiques. I absolutely love Bon Marche. It is one of Paris’ department stores but it is very expensive. Mostly everything in the store is expensive and higher end. It is fun to still browse and look around though. They do have less expensive brands like Laura Mercier, though. Of course we stopped in Celine, Louis Vuitton, and Prada, though!
We also found J.Crew here! The prices are very expensive here, though.
One really unique thing about Bon Marche is that they had a little Birchbox stand. Birchbox is a company where you can pay $10 a month to have customized products sent to you monthly in a box. In this case, you could buy and create a box for 15 Euros. It was so creative!
After our little shopping adventure, I was so tired! We tried to wake up by eating a super yummy eclair from this place called “L’Eclair de Génie” (32 Rue Notre Dame des Victoires). We got a dark chocolate one with some pretty metallic pieces on top. After that, we wanted something savory, so we stopped by Paul to get some bread before heading back to the apartment.
Needless to say, the sugar we got as a pick-me-up just caused us to be even more tired! I took a thirty minute or nap so before heading to dinner.
We were craving some Mexican food (classic Americans…) so we headed to Rue Dauphine to find a restaurant. We picked one called “Fajitas” (15 Rue Dauphine, 75006). It was so good! My mom and I shared some fajitas. The guacamole and (seemingly) authentic Mexican food fulfilled our craving!
We ended day 14 with a long walk down Rue Saint Honore, the best street to window shop on!
