Hi lovely people! Today was my fifteenth day on my trip! I’ve officially been here for over two weeks! Time has seriously flown by and before I know it, my little vacation will be over!
Yesterday my brothers left for the States and so now it is just my parents and me. Today we had another relaxing morning. I have liked having these types of mornings. During this time I don’t have to rush getting ready, I can edit my videos, and I can just work on my computer. I’m starting to love it when my mornings look like this.
Lunch was the first task for today since I took an off morning. We were going to go to Les Jardins de Tuileries, but I, being the picky eater that I am, looked at the menu and decided that I would rather have something else. We ended up going to Le Pain Quotidienne again (still amazing! still ate too much!). I think that this little restaurant will be a staple for us while we are here.
After lunch, we headed to Laduree to get some yummy macaroons! My favorite was the caramel flavor. This trip, I’ve grown fond of the flavor, caramel. I used to not like it but now I’m loving it! The featured flavor was a strawberry macaroon filled with marshmallow fluff and sugar on top. It was really sweet but really good!
Next, we headed to Les Champs Elysees, the main road and shopping area in the heart of Paris. It runs to the L’Arc de Triomphe, the big arc that is really famous. This arc stands for those who fought in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. This is a beautiful arc and going up it at night is so worth climbing the hundreds of steps.
Anyways, yes, we went to Les Champs Elysees to go shopping. My oh my. So. Many. People. Take note that today was a Saturday in the city and the start of tourist season. After about an hour, my mom and I decided that we had had enough of the crowds, so we left to find our way to dinner. On my vlog (this is a term which stands for video blog, a type of video that documents what would have been put into words, but on video) I show the inside of Sephora, which probably had about 300 people inside. So. Crazy.
For dinner, we went to a restaurant and I don’t even remember what it was called. We actually had an interesting dinner. There was an intoxicated man basically having a huge argument with our waiter while we were trying to order. I’m not really sure what the argument was about, but the whole restaurant was staring at our table while our waiter was screaming across the restaurant. This honestly ruined my meal for me because it got me upset and I was flustered and tired at that point in the day.
After dinner, we wandered back to our apartment after going to La Gare Saint Lazare. We went to this famous train station to get pictures and to buy our train tickets for our little side trip we have planned for tomorrow! This train station was the station that Claude Monet took back and forth to Giverny, the place where he painted his famous waterlilies. He also has some paintings of the train station itself.
Despite the huge crowds and the interesting dinner experience, I had a fun day! We finally saw the sun today for a brief moment, which was amazing, and the weather warmed up for a bit, too! I am trying to find the positive and the wonderful in everyday I’m here! I know that this is a trip of a lifetime and I don’t want to take anything or any day for granted! That is partially a reason why I am making these daily vlogs and daily blog posts. I want to have memories to look back on and I want to be able to go back to watch these videos and read these posts to see how much fun I was having. They are just another little memory I can hold onto from this amazing trip.
I’ll see y’all later! Bye!
