We arrived by train to rainy gloomy Paris, France at noon today. Ever since we have arrived, it has sadly been gloomy and overcast. I didn’t video much today because most of the day was taken up by doing laundry at the local laundromat or being on the train on our way here.
The train ride was three hours long and I slept most of the way to Paris. Once we arrived, we checked into our apartment and got settled.
Because we have already been in Europe for about 9 days now, it was crucial that we did some laundry. Fitting a month’s worth of clothes into a carry-on is not possible- laundry is definitely a must. After we spent some time doing laundry and buying some groceries, we walked to dinner (Cafe de Paris) where I had a vegetable platter with mashed potatoes, cooked spinach, green beans, and so on. If you like steak, I’ve heard that this is a great option to order.
I absolutely love Paris. I am so glad to finally be here! We have already been to Zurich, Munich, and Amsterdam, and in a sense, Paris is our last stop. From here, we might take little “side-trips,” but we are not going to be packing all of our stuff up until we go home to the States.
After the yummy dinner, we went to an amazing crepe place where you can just walk up and order. Every time we come to Paris, this place is a must-go. I shared a nutella crepe with whipped creme- so good!
This is the address:
9 Carrefour de L’Odeon
75006 Paris, France
The crepe place is attached to a restaurant and a man makes the crepes in the front entryway. Sometimes there is a walk-up window that is open.
The poor guy at the crepe walk-up was closing but my mom convinced him to stay open for us! People saw the crepes and he ended up serving at least 10 more people! Poor guy! I feel so bad!
Although it ended up low-key pouring, I had a great first day in Paris! I am so happy to finally be here! Praying for no more rain!
