Don’t tell me that you don’t get a tiny bit excited when you see that Target has all of their back to school supplies in the back of the store. Maybe it’s only me. Seeing the back to school section can make my day 100 times better, if not make my whole week better. I don’t know why, but the whole “Back-To-School” stuff just gets me so excited, and I absolutely love buying new folders, notebooks, pens, pencils, post-it notes, etc. Besides Christmas time/ December in general (my birthday month), back to school season is my favorite! I get so excited and happy and joyous.
I also love having a new pencil case each year, and I always tend to fill it to the brim with an assortment of every color pen, and at least 10 pencils, even if I only really need 3. Hey, I like to be prepared.
This is my pencil case.
I bought this pencil case from Forever 21. I think I purchased it a couple of months ago, as in last December or January? I don’t think they have this exact one anymore. This is actually supposed to be a makeup pouch, but I actually use it as a pencil case! Duh. I like using this one because it is big enough to fit all colors of my pens and all of those chunky highlighters that seem to take up so much room. I can also fit in a post-it note pad while still having room for other things. Also, when I’m not in school, I use it as an actual makeup pouch, and it is the perfect size for traveling.
Also, isn’t the bow just adorable? I love bows, so this was the perfect pencil case for me. The stitching is coming apart a little bit, but really, it was under $10, so I’d say it was a “worth-it” kind of purchase. I think that they have these all year round at Forever 21. They have different patterns each season though.
So for what I keep in my pencil case, I keep
I really love the BIC Ballpoint clickable pens. I’m not sure what the official name is, but they come in a bunch of colors. I also love the Papermate Felt tip pens. These also come in a bunch of colors, and they rock.
I like the BIC mechanical pencils (.7 I think). They are just the classic ones that come in a pack of 24 or something. I really like them and I’ve been using them for years.
Really, I just buy whatever highlighters I feel like at the time, but I do love to have them in a bunch of colors. Highlighters seem to make note-taking more fun and they help pass the time.
Post-it notes are the ultimate pencil case essential. They are awesome for writing down your homework, or a last minute reminder, or just for drawing a little doodle.
Those little erasers on the pencils always run out suspiciously too fast. Like, I buy the pencil, use it for a week, and the eraser is all gone! It is like there’s a fairy who comes and eats the eraser at night or something! For me, a solid, separate eraser is a must- especially in math class.
I’m not sure if most people think of this, but for me, I can’t live without it. My lips are always chapped (or so it seems) and I am always reaching for chapstick. It’s the worst when your lips are chapped and you don’t have any chapstick and have to resort to licking your lips. That is not fun. I recommend throwing in some chapstick.
A Stapler (Sometimes)
This isn’t really and essential, but I like to have a mini stapler for those times when your teacher just ran out of staples, or when there is not a stapler in sight. Sure, you might get some weird looks when you whip out your hot pink mini stapler out of your pencil case, but you will be happy when you have to turn in that eight page paper that you forgot to staple the night before.
Thanks for Reading!
