Something Beautiful

May 9, 2014

The future can be anywhere from exciting, to scary, to mysterious, or to planned out (or so you think). In life, there are always twists and turns that are sometimes unexpected and they come seemingly out of nowhere. Sometimes it’s a good circumstance that comes your way, and sometimes it’s not such a good situation that gets thrown at you. I have had many curve balls thrown at me in my lifetime, and I have learned that I can get through anything with God’s help and prayer. I also have a few Bible verses that I run to when I’m feeling stressed and anxious about the future.

In conjunction with prayer, scripture helps to calm my nerves. These verses are the verses that I not only run to in a time of worry, but they are also what I run to when I am thinking of the future. The verse that I am going to focus on in Jeremiah 29:11.

My ultimate favorite verse, Jeremiah 29:11, is one of the many verses that I run to. This has always been my favorite verse. It reads, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope”. This verse always gives me the reassurance that I need. This Bible verse helps me understand and realize that God has a master plan, a blue print for each of us. He has made no mistakes, and even when we think He’s not doing the best for us, He is helping us in someway. Maybe He is trying to teach us something, or trying to make us grow in Him, or maybe He is making us rely more on Him. I don’t know what He has planned for me, but I know that what He has planned is far greater than anything I could possibly imagine.

Another thing that this verse has made me realize, is that we are all part of our own unique plans that God has made specific to us. You know when someone gets something, and you are extremely jealous, and ask God why you didn’t get that opportunity? But then you don’t wish and ask God for a tragedy when tragedy hits one of your friends. You pray for them instead. Every person is on a different path in life, and no matter how much we want to divert from our paths, God will keep on pushing you on your path, because ultimately, He has a different plan for you. He has a different plan for your future that is so great, that it’s unimaginable. I just have to remind myself that whenever I want the circumstances to change and I want to know what God has in store for me.

Of course we all want to know what God has planned for us. I wonder all the time. But because He keeps us guessing, we get thrown curveballs that are sometimes not what we had wanted, but sometimes they are far greater than we had ever imagined.

So don’t worry about the future. God has something amazing planned for you, and everything will work out. Just keep on praying, and everything, in time, will come together and create something beautiful.

When a plant is growing, nobody knows what will become of the plant. It could become a beautiful plant with a pink flower, or an orange flower, or it could just have some beautiful leaves. Although we might know what type of plant it is, we don’t necessarily know how the plant will turn out. We don’t know how beautiful it can and will become. You just have to trust God that the flower will run it’s course, and it will turn into something beautiful. We might have an idea as to what the plant will look like eventually, but there is no telling, because nothing is the same. Every plant has different DNA, and each is slightly different in one way or another. Then, when the flower blooms, it turns out to be way prettier than we could have ever imagined.
