I am going back to the basics with this one, showing y’all how to style seersucker!
Seersucker is one of my favorite patterns, hands down. It reminds me of Florida, it is the trademark of all things preppy, and it is just so classic.
Guys wear seersucker, girls wear seersucker, I’ve even seen dogs wear seersucker.
What’s the trick to making it work, though?
If you don’t know what seersucker is, it is a type of fabric/design that is characterized by thin vertical stripes. There is also a certain texture to the pattern as well. This dress I’m wearing is seersucker.
Here are my favorite seersucker picks:
Seersucker can be tricky to wear because it’s technically a pattern, but the pattern is so miniscule that you could get away with combining patterns with the seersucker.
As I’m a longtime fan of this pattern, here are some of my tips on how to style seersucker:
Keep it Simple
My favorite way to style seersucker is by keeping the rest of the outfit simple. As seen in the photos above, this dress is accessorized with a navy purse and tan wedges. Simple as that. I personally think that tan + blue is the dream combination, so you can’t go wrong with this combo!
Dress it Up
Seersucker is the best because you can dress it up or down. My favorite way to dress up seersucker is by pairing a fun necklace with it. A fun necklace with one or two colors would look darling with seersucker! I’d probably opt to pair it with this necklace.
Dress it Down
My favorite way to wear seersucker casually is by pairing it with a good pair of sandals. Seersucker comes in many different types of clothes, not just dresses. A common seersucker clothing item is shorts. Seersucker shorts would look cute with a pair of Jack Rogers or a nice gold sandal.
Add a Bold Pattern
Mixing patterns honestly scares me a little bit, but I’ve been trying to experiment lately. While I personally have never paired seersucker with another pattern, I think that seersucker with a polka dot pattern or possibly a leopard print could work nicely! Just add bold patterns in small doses!
