At one point or another, it seems like every college girl partakes in the “college chop.” The college chop is when you just get sick and tired of your long hair and you are craving something simpler, easier, and shorter. I did this freshman year at the end of my semester when my hair was damaged, long, and stringy. I just did the college chop once again!
This time around, I wanted a change. Something different. Something simpler. Something more mature.
Cue the college chop round 2.
While my hair wasn’t too long or damaged, I felt like I needed a change in my life and changing my hair was one way to have that change I craved.
I cut about 3-4 inches off, I’d say, and I am absolutely in love with my hair now. It is shorter, lighter, cuter, and easier. The only bummer is that my natural blonde highlights are long gone, and I have to wait until summer for those to return.
Some might argue that I look older, some might say I look younger, but I think that this haircut suits me perfectly. I actually took a poll on twitter to get y’alls opinion! Out of all of the votes, doing the chop was the winner.
What are your thoughts on the college chop? Have y’all done the college chop? Let me know your thoughts!
