The Start of My Post Grad Life

The Start of My Post Grad Life

Hey y’all! Long time no see! As I have finished up my senior year of college, and as I have graduated college, I have been thinking a lot. I haven’t necessarily lost my passion for this blog, but really, I didn’t have the time for it and I haven’t for the past 6 months to a year. It’s been hard to keep up with it. I haven’t loved photographing my fashion and my clothes and I haven’t loved creatively writing, so I decided to take a break. I spend practically my whole last year of college in student teaching and therefore I focused all of my time and energy into that. I focused my days and my time after school into either cherishing and holding onto my friendships, or working on school work (#edTPA, if you know, you know.), and trying to enjoy my last year of college. It was hard and it was good.

My next step in my life is the now, and the now is post grad life. I am living in Birmingham, AL with some of my best friends, and I am so excited to tell y’all that I am going to be a teacher in Birmingham. I’m not going to announce what grade I am teaching just yet, because it’s not completely official, but I am thrilled. I am so excited to love kids and pour into them, along with teaching them a few things, ha! I’ve debating starting a teacher blog in addition to this one, but truly, I think that if I did that, I wouldn’t keep up with this one. I would focus all of my time and energy into the other blog, and I really do think that this one would go on the back-burner… maybe forever. Who knows. I haven’t officially decided yet, but I think that I have decided to start incorporating some teaching tidbits into this blog. This blog is me. It’s not defined or boxed into one category, but rather it is defined by my passions: photography, writing, fashion, faith, and now teaching. Teaching is going to be my newest addition to my favorite little corner of the internet.

I suppose that I am writing this to tell y’all that I will be including some teacher stuff on here, so unfollow if you wish. Unfollow if it’s going to annoy you, unfollow if you want. This blog has always been for me, and it’s been one of the only places in my life where I don’t feel like I need to people-please. This blog is my creative outlet and it’s where I shine and where I share and spill my passions and my thoughts.

I am going to create a new tab at the top for you fellow teachers, and I’ve already created a “Classroom Must-Haves” shop tab for y’all, if you want a peak into what I’m buying for my classroom. Please please please send me recommendations of what you want to see on this blog, teaching related or not. Y’alls emails make my day, every time, and I absolutely LOVE suggestions on what to post. If you want to see what I’m up to via Instagram, related to teaching, feel free to follow me at @missstunkel for some fun ideas. I will hopefully post my classroom, what I learn, and some tips and tricks as I start this first year of teaching. This is such a little rant for me and as I said, this is my creative outlet, kind of like a journal entry for me, so thanks for reading if you made it this far! Y’all are rockstars and I love y’all.

I'm Sally, your average blogger who writes about whatever is on my heart. My life is messy and far from perfect, but I hope you can find this blog as a place to relate, where you will get the real and authentic me.
