Packing a carry on has always been my favorite thing to do. When I was younger, my mom would always buy me a toy for the plane to keep me entertained. I guess it’s no wonder why I love flying to this day! While I don’t get a toy anymore, I still get excited to fly. I really don’t like security (I get patted down every time), but I love being in an airplane. Airplanes are awesome, but confusing. I don’t think I will ever understand how airplanes work. Explain it to me all you want, I’m not going to get it.
To start off packing my carry on, I always have a few essentials that I lay out…
For Christmas this year, my parents got me some Bose Noise Cancelling headphones. These are amazing. I have the wireless version that connects via Bluetooth… These headphones are great because they cancel out that humming noise of the airplane and they also cancel out any other noises that you might hear on the plane (screaming babies for example). Another great thing about these headphones is that the battery lasts for 20 hours, so no need to worry about the battery running out before you land! Are you sold yet? You can get them here.
Quest bars are by far my favorite type of snack. They keep me full for a while and they taste so good! At first when I tried these, I hated them, but I wanted to like them so bad that I just tricked myself into liking them… Now I’m obsessed with them and don’t go anywhere without one. My favorite flavor is Double Chocolate Chunk. My favorite flavors change every couple of months… I think I’m moving onto Chocolate Brownie.
If you don’t have noise cancelling headphones, earplugs are a must. I will most likely bring earplugs with me even though I technically don’t need them. Ear plugs are great for when you are trying to fall asleep on the plane! I also normally use earplugs when I sleep, so I might as well just toss them in my carry on.
Of course I am bringing my camera in my carry on! I just did a post all about what’s in my camera bag, so if you have any questions about that, go check out the post! My camera is going to be glued to my hip the whole time I am in Europe. I am so excited to take tons of photos!
I feel like eye masks are so underrated. I am a total fan of eye masks because they help me sleep better and they are so comfy! I have one that is silky, so it feels really good on my eyes after a long day. Everytime I fly, I use my eyemask and I have no trouble falling asleep!
When I travel, I don’t like to bring a lot of physical books with me because they take up so much room, so instead, I bring along my iPad, which has a Kindle App. If I can’t sleep or I want to pass the time, I will pull out my iPad to read or play Solitaire. I am so bad at Solitaire, yet I play it all the time. I’m holding onto the saying that practice makes perfect!
I’ve never actually traveled with a small neck pillow, but I’ve always wanted to. I’ve heard that this one is really nice, but I don’t know if it’s worth the price… Do y’all have any recommendations for me for a pillow to travel with?
iPhone Portable Charger
Does anyone else’s battery go down so quickly? I carry around a portable charger with me pretty much wherever I go because my phone dies so quickly. I got mine from Target and it works great! Especially with a long airplane ride, this portable charger is a must-have for me. This one from Amazon looks great and has gotten the best reviews!
I always travel with an adapter, just in case. As you probably know, the plugs are different in Europe, so you need an adapter to use and charge your electronics. When my family travels, we have about 5 or 6 adapters for just three of us… It’s like we can’t survive without technology…
Besides a few other things, that’s all that I carry on in my bag on the plane! I switch up the bag that I use every time, so I can’t really say which one I will be using this time around. Maybe my backpack? Maybe a tote bag? Not sure! Make sure to subscribe to stay updated with my travel posts and my posts from Europe!
